Our beauty Secret Agent talks
the ‘3D Colour Revolution’

Exclusively available at Uppercut...

Yes, I am from Essex and my hair is blonde and highlighted. And like many of you readers, I have had the same hair stylist for a number of years. So when I was asked to try out Uppercut’s new 3D Colour Revolution, I was met with a pang of guilt. What would my present hairdresser say? But also by an edge of excitement. Is it really that bad to defect, to try something and someone new? Now I am not one for using the same brand of deodorant, the same face cream and I never drive the same way to and from a destination, so why such feelings of guilt? If I balanced on the equilibrium I would never know - so I simply crossed the line. I thanked the press team at Uppercut, and gingerly accepted their offer.

I arrived at the Gants Hill salon and was met by senior hair stylist, Eve Douglas. Eve sat me down and presented a book brimming with loops of hair in a full spectrum of colours: pinks, reds, blondes and browns. Eve gently prompted which colours she thought would give my hair a revitalised look, creating depth and dimension but without appearing too different. Having, (on first sight), gobbled a piece of Uppercut stick-of-rock, I nodded ‘Yes’ to the colours suggested, in fear I might dribble down my top. ‘She knows what she is doing’ I said to myself.

45 minutes, a wash and a blow dry and a little chat later, I am pleasantly happy with the end result. I do not have an apparent highlighted line and my hair does have the ‘depth’ and ‘dimension’ that Eve was talking about. Having the same colorist and stylist also meant that Eve was in total control of the end result. Eve new where her colours lay and cut my hair accordingly ensuring that when I swished my hair in a ‘Your worth it’ kind of way, the light and darker tones she had used created a three dimensional look.

Four weeks on, and still no show of a re-growth line, the 3D hair colour has been very low maintenance; Eve says my hair should stay looking this good for up to 12 weeks. The 3D Colour Revolution has been a success, I am only sorry I wasn’t brave enough to opt for the reds and pinks.

So, to all you iN Mag readers - 3D is definitely worth booking. Full marks for Team Uppercut.
